| General Description | Designed for students who wish to proceed to VET or university. The course focuses on advanced English skills in essay writing, lecture note-taking and seminar presentations. Students will be given IELTS preparation tasks. |
| Pre-requisites: | Completion of Intermediate and Upper Intermediate course or equivalent skills |
| Teaching Methods: | This course will be delivered using a combination of lectures, handouts, tutorials and practical exercises. Students will do IELTS practice tests throughout the course. |
| Teaching Materials: | The main course book is EAP Now. This book is published by Pearson Education Australia. Additionally the course will use the CAMBRIDGE INSTANT IELTS and UTS INSEARCH ENGLISH – PREPARE FOR IELTS: ACADEMIC PRACTICE TESTS. |
| Assessment Methods: | Assessment will take place within the modules and will include at least one IELTS task. The college will administer tests similar to 6, 6.5 level IELTS. Students will make their own arrangements to sit for IELTS. |
